Remote

More people are now working “remotely”. This may enhance productivity but what does it feel like for the remote worker.

Why do we seek out “remote” places?

This series of photographs explores what it might mean to be in a remote place. Use of rain, a restricted colour palette, mist, and dark skys are part of the story. “Empty” landscapes re-enforce the feelings of distance together with subjects that are associated with remoteness, such as open seas.

By contrast, urban scenes often make us feel remote with their use of concrete and a grey emptiness.
